Understanding Rehab Treatment Tracks

Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or someone you love, the process of finding the right treatment can feel overwhelming. Terms like detox, residential, PHP, and IOP are often tossed around….but what do they really mean?

In this post, I break down each level of care so you can make informed, empowered decisions. I’ve also included trusted rehab centers right here in Colorado and recovery communities to support you after treatment ends.

🏥 Detox (Medical Stabilization)

Length: 3–10 days

Goal: Safely remove substances under medical care and prep for deeper healing.

Detox is your body’s reset. With 24/7 medical care, this phase helps you stabilize so you can move forward clearly and safely.

🏡 Inpatient (Residential Treatment)

Length: 30–90 days

What’s Included: Therapy, medical care, peer support, structured schedule

This is where real transformation can start. You’re surrounded by care, structure, and a healing environment.

📚 PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program)

Length: 2–4 weeks

Schedule: 5 days/week, day sessions

Great for: Transitioning out of inpatient care

It’s full-day support while you begin rebuilding life on the outside.

🤝 IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)

Length: 8–12 weeks

Schedule: 3–5 days/week, a few hours/day

Flexibility: You can work, parent, or go to school while attending

You’re living life again—with structure, therapy, and support along the way.

💕 Sober Living

Length: Varies

Features: Peer accountability, drug testing, community, curfews

A safe, supportive launchpad for long-term recovery. You’re not alone here.
