3 Things I Wish I Knew…
When I first decided to stop drinking, I thought the hardest part would be saying no to wine.
Turns out, the hardest part was facing myself and learning to love what I found.
Here are 3 things I wish someone had told me at the beginning:
1. You’re not broken. You’re healing.
Sobriety isn’t a punishment for people who “can’t handle alcohol.” It’s a path to healing for people ready for more. More presence. More peace. More joy.
2. You don’t have to do this alone.
The enemy loves isolation. God created us for connection. Whether it’s one trusted friend or a full recovery group, let someone in. Speak your truth. That’s where the light gets in.
3. There’s life beyond the label.
You don’t have to call yourself an alcoholic to choose sobriety. You don’t have to hit rock bottom to decide you’re worthy of more. Labels don’t define you…..your choices do.
Final Thought:
If you’re just starting this journey, I’m so proud of you. Take it one moment at a time. You’re not just quitting something…you’re creating space for something beautiful.
